MAFTAA and ATFA organized the 8th Turkish American Cultural Reception at the Library of Virginia on March 9th. Similar to the past receptions, this year was also a wonderful gathering of community leaders, individuals and State leaders. Guests from both chambers of the General Assembly attended to enjoy an array of Turkish food, music, and arts. Special aspects of the Turkish culture such as Turkish coffee, calligraphy, and Ebru art (water-marbling) were demonstrated for attendees. The live Ebru art in particular drew a great deal of interest from all guests.

In addition, FACETS became our partner and guest humanitarian organization at the Turkish American Cultural Reception. FACETS is a phenomenal humanitarian organization dedicated to resolving the problem of poverty centered in Fairfax County.
