As you may already know, Ramadan is a month in which people from Turkish culture reach out to the communities, try to invite their neighbors, friends and often those who they don’t know well to “iftar” (supper in Ramadan), for the purpose of getting to know each other better. As American Turkish Friendship Association we tried to do the same in Fairfax County and had guests over at ATFA for every day of Ramada. Our guests for August 15, 2012 were Azerbaijani Americans living in D.C. Metropolitan area. Approximately 75 Azerbaijani Americans and their friends joined us for a dinner at ATFA, engaged in mutual conversations and got to know each other a little better. This was the second time Azerbaijani Americans were invited to ATFA for iftar.
