Chairman Sharon Bulova welcomed the Kecioren Delegation including the Mayor, his wife, Deputy Mayor, AKP parliamentarian, parliamentarian’s wife, International Affairs director and two businessmen at George Mason Inn. Many Fairfax dignitaries welcomed the delegation at the breakfast. The hosts included; President of George Mason Angel Cabrera, CEO of Economical Development Authority Dr. Gerald Gordon, International Marketing Director of EDA Jan Mul, Supervisor Pat Harrity, Supervisor Gerald Hyland and Sharon Bulova’s staff members. Madame Chairman greeted the delegation and expressed her honor to reciprocate the warm welcoming the Kecioren Municipality in Turkey gave her.  She shared her memoirs from Turkey and was sure the Sister City relationship will be beneficial for both parties. Mayor Mustafa Ak of Kecioren also made remarks and invited everyone around the table to visit Turkey and Kecioren in particular to be his guest.  He, too, shared the similar thoughts and had great hope in the Sister City Initiative and assured Chairman Bulova that her welcoming was greatly appreciated. The sister city initiative was formed with the help of MAFTAA and ATFA, both of which were recognized by the Mayor and the Chairman. Later on Chairman Bulova went over how the delegations day will continue. The itinerary included a visit to Covanta Waste to Energy Facility, Private tour of Mt.Vernon George Washington’s home and lunch at Mt.Vernon, than followed with a visit to Turkish American Facility and a Welcoming reception in the honor of the Delegation.
